World Soil Day _ FAR : Photo Gallery

Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Faculty Centre for Agricultural Education and Research in collaboration with ICAR-SAKVK, Coimbatore conducted Soil health programme on the occasion of World Soil Day at Naickenpalayam village, Coimbatore. In total, 18 farmers and 57 students were participated on that occasion. Dr. G. Yoganathan, Assistant Professor (Soil Science) formally welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of keeping the soil at its optimum condition in favoring the growth, multiplication and stabilization of microorganisms, insects, animals and bird nesting and other biota of the ecosystem habituating in the soil. Mrs. N. Suganthi, Subject Matter Specialist (ICAR-SAKVK, Coimbatore) gave an extraordinary speech on the overview in sustaining the soil health, biological activity in soils, and the role of soil microorganisms in biological activity for regulating the availability of nutrients to the plant biota. Soil health cards were issued to five farmers to gain knowledge on the importance of soil fertility in each nutrient resource in soil conditions. And at the end of the session, Mr. A. Suresh, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Extension) delivered vote of thanks.
