Department of Visual Impairment, Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Coimbatore Campus organized a vision screening camp on 27.03.2024 in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, Peelamedu, Coimbatore. Six experts from Aravind eye hospital including Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Vision Rehabilitationist, Refractionists, Project Manager and an Optician were involved in the screening procedure. Teacher trainees from B.Ed Spl.Edn (Visual Impairment), M.Ed Spl.Edn (Visual Impairment) and Ph.D Scholar also took part in the screening camp.
Totally 72 participants (Male-47, Female-25) including students with special needs from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya High School, Swami Shivananda Higher Secondary School, Swami Shivananda Nursery and Primary School, T.A.T Kalanilayam Middle School, Various Therapy units of FDMSE and students of Institute of Agriculture Rural and Tribal Development (ARTD) got benefitted through this vision screening camp. Dr. S. Parween, Assistant Professor coordinated the event.
