Students’ Literary Association (SLA)
The Students’ Literary Association (SLA) of GAPEY is dedicated to fostering intellectual growth, creativity, and leadership skills among students through a wide range of activities.
A major initiative under SLA is the Swami Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC), which inspires students by exploring the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Key focus areas include:
- Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy on the role of teachers
- His views on education and holistic development
- The significance of physical and mental well-being
- The Four Yogas as outlined by Swami Vivekananda
- “Our India” – Swami Vivekananda’s vision for the nation
- Quiz competitions based on his teachings
- Oratorical competitions, including speeches on his historic Chicago Address
In addition to VSC, the SLA also organizes:
- Speech, essay writing, and drawing competitions
- Interactive feedback sessions with alumni members
- Discussions on recent trends and developments in physical education
- Celebration of key events such as National Sports Day and Teacher’s Day
- Cultural festivals and special observances throughout the year
