OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY UNIT

Occupational therapy is the treatment to develop, recover or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with physical, mental or cognitive disorders.

Occupational therapy intervenes focus on adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching the skill and educating client and family to increase participation in & performance of daily activities.

OT strategies include

  1. Physical activities such as stringing beads or doing puzzles
  2. To develop coordination and body awareness
  3. Play activities for interaction and communication
  4. Adaptive strategies including coping with transitions
