The National Seminar on Education for Persons with Learning Disabilities: Practices and Perspectives was organized on 24th and 25th March, 2017, by Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education & Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education (FDMSE), Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University (RKMVU) Coimbatore. Dr. N. Muthaiah, Principal, College of Education & Hon. Dean, FDMSE welcomed the gathering. Rev. Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math, Kolkata launched the E-Journal “Journal of Disability Management and Special Education (JODYS)” and delivered the benedictory address. Swami Hararupananda, SRKV-CBE oriented about the key features of e-journal “JODYS”. Prof. Smriti Swarup, Former Director of Center of Special Education & Dean, Faculty of Education, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai gave the keynote address. Swami Abhiramanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions, Coimbatore delivered the Presidential Address. Dr. S. Rajaguru, Associate Professor, College of Education proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 158 delegates attended the seminar and 40 scholars presented papers on various themes related to learning disability through concurrent sessions on both days of the seminar.
