Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga celebrated International Day of Person with Disability by organizing Inclusive Sports Meet for Persons with Disabilities on 03.11.2020. Dr. N. Muthaiah, Dean, School of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physical Education was the chief guest and inaugurated the sports meet, Swami Veerahananda Maharaj, RKMVERI – GAPEY presided over the function.
A total of 31 athletes with various disabilities – Visual Impairment (05), Hearing Impairment (14), Intellectual Disability (10) and Physical Impairment (02) in the below mentioned events
Visual Impairment:
- 25M guide rope running
- Bumper pool
Physical Impairment:
- Medicine ball throw
- Basketball free throw
Intellectual Disability:
- 50M race
- Softball throw
- Concentric circle ball roll
- Shoot at goal
Hearing Impairment:
- 25M race
- 50M race
- 1-min. ups contest
- 10M Zig Zag dribble
- Standing broad jump
- Shoot at goal
In the valedictory function Rev. Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Administrative Head, RKMVERI, Coimbatore Campus felicitated the athletes with medals and memento.
