RKMVERI, FDMSE, Coimbatore Campus observed International Day of Sign Languages on 23 September 2023. The program started at 10:00 a.m. with prayer song. Mr. K. Kumaran, (ISL Master Trainer) welcomed the gathering in Sign Language and verbalized by DISLI student Miss. Dharani. An Audio-Visual Presentation on “Importance of Learning Sign Language” was given by Mrs. Megha Tiwari, (ISL Interpreter), FDMSE. The Chief Guest Mr. S. Libin Christopher, Asst. Prof. (Dept. of Commerce) from Shankara College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore shared his “Deaf Life Experiences to Address the Importance of Sign Language”. He shared the need and importance of learning sign language for severe and profound categories and life changes after learning sign language in his career journey. The program ended up with a vote of thanks by Mrs. M. Senthilvani, Asst. Prof, FDMSE with interpretation in sign language by DISLI Student. All teaching staff and teacher trainees attended the event. The program was concluded with the National Anthem in ISL.
