Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga (GAPEY), Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Campus organized “STATE LEVEL TOURNAMENTS IN ADAPTED SPORTS (RKMV TROPHY)” for Persons with Disabilities on 19th & 20th August 2025.

This tournament for persons with disabilities was organized under four categories namely

 

      • Para Sitting Volleyball
      • Kabaddi for Hearing Impaired
      • Volleyball for Visually Impaired
      • Football for Intellectually Challenged
 

Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions, Swami Tadbhasanandaji Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Mrs. S. Bhuvaneshwari [Chief Guest], District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer, Coimbatore District, Dr. R. Giridharan, Head of the Department, RKMVERI-Faculty of GAPEY, Dr. T. Jayabal, Principal, SRMV, Maruthi College of Physical Education were the dignitaries who graced the Inaugural function and flagged of the events.

A total of 33 teams comprising 282 persons with disabilities participated in the tournament, representing 25 districts across Tamil Nadu.

Monks, Heads of Vidyalaya Institutions inaugurated all the matches conducted on these both days and motivated the players.

In the Valedictory Function Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions, Swami Tadbhasanandaji Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Thiru G. Ravindranath Singh [Chief Guest], Deputy Director (Retd.), Department of Welfare of the Differently Abled Persons, Chennai – 600 005, Dr. S. Alagesan, Director, Swami Vivekananda Cultural and Heritage Centre, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Dr. R. Giridharan, Head of the Department, RKMVERI-Faculty of GAPEY, were the dignitaries who distributed the Trophies, Certificates, Medals and Cash Prizes to the Winners.

Children with Special Needs from the Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education, RKMVERI, along with Persons with Disabilities from the Vidyalaya Printing Press and Notebook Section, were specially honored by being given the privilege of presenting medals to the winning teams.
