[Report] GAPEY organized Deeksharambh – 2026

The Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga, Coimbatore Campus, successfully organized Deeksharambh – 2026, the student induction and orientation programme, on 01 July 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall. The programme marked the formal commencement of the academic journey for the newly admitted students, encouraging a sense of belonging, discipline, and commitment to the institution’s values.

The event commenced with a soulful Prayer Song, creating a serene and spiritually enriching atmosphere. Dr. A. Sathiya Moorthy, Assistant Professor delivered the Welcome Address, extending a warm reception to the students and their parents while emphasizing the importance of holistic education, discipline, and character development.

A significant highlight of the programme was the Deeksharambh Rituals, which included blessings from parents and the traditional Padha Puja, symbolizing respect, gratitude, and the beginning of a meaningful educational journey rooted in Indian cultural values.

The gathering was then addressed by Swami Bakthivritanandaji Maharaj, In-Charge, Yogananda Hostel, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya. In his inspiring special address, he encouraged the students to cultivate discipline, dedication, humility, and self-confidence while pursuing academic excellence and personal growth.

The programme continued with the Introduction of Staff Members, enabling the students and parents to become familiar with the faculty and administrative team. A comprehensive Departmental Orientation followed, during which academic regulations, curriculum structure, student support services, sports activities, institutional facilities, and expectations were explained in detail.

An interactive Parents’ Review and Feedback Session provided an opportunity for parents to share their observations and seek clarifications regarding academic and campus life. The programme concluded with Certificate Verification and Document Submission, ensuring the completion of the admission formalities.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 112 newly admitted students, 97 parents, and 12 staff members, making the induction programme a grand success. Deeksharambh – 2026 effectively introduced the students to the institution’s academic environment, ethical values, and culture of excellence, laying a strong foundation for their educational journey at the Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga.
