On November 24, 2022, the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga organised the Young Athletes Training Program (YATP), which introduces children with developmental disabilities from the age of two through seven to sports and prepares them for competitions once they turn eight. The programme is solely participation-based, and there are no competitive events during it. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the kuthuvilaku by Mr. G. Vasantha Rama Kumar, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer, Coimbatore; Swami Buddhidananda, Deputy Controller of Examination, RKMVERI; Swami Virahananda, RKMVERI–GAPEY; and Dr. R. Giridharan, Associate Professor and Head, RKMVERI–GAPEY. Over 15 playing stations with 65 volunteers were arranged for the participants. A total of 120 athletes with various developmental disabilities and their parents participated in the event and benefited.
