Week for Holistic Welfare of the Children from 14 Nov, 2018 to 20 Nov, 2018
Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education (FDMSE), Coimbatore Campus, in partnership with Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur, West Bengal and globally with ARIGATOU International, Japan organized the ‘Week for Holistic Welfare of the Children’ from 14 Nov, 2018 to 20 Nov, 2018. The inaugural function was held on 14.11.2018. Swami Divyaprajnananda, Asst. Administrative Head gave the benedictory address. Dr. R. Parimala, Medical Officer, Kuppusamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, Coimbatore gave the chief guest address. The events like nature walk, art and craft, community orientation, cultural performance, storytelling, field trip, screening wild life movies, practical exposure to adapted yoga and unified sports, and talk on self help skills, safety measures, health and hygiene and environmental care were conducted for children with disabilities. The valedictory function was held on 20th Nov, 2018. Swami Divyaprajnananda, Asst. Admin. Head Graced the occasion. Mr. S. Shankar Subbiah, Assistive Technology Consultant, Agate InfoTech, Chennai gave the chief guest address. A two day training programme for parents of children with disabilities were conducted along with this programme. Gifts were distributed to all the children and care takers. A total of 130 children with disabilities along with their parents participated in the week long programme.
