State Level Yogasana Competition for Person with Disabilities – 2023 was organized by Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga on 11th February 2023 at Multipurpose Hall. The programme started with registration from 8.00 am. The athletes from Intellectual Disability, Hearing Impairment and Visual Impairment in both boys & girls category along with their parents / Guardians registered themselves in Under 13 and above 13 age groups.
A total of 140 athletes from 10 special schools in and around Coimbatore district exhibited their talents in the Yogasana & Suryanamaskar categories as prescribed by the organisers in front of the judges from 9 am to 12.00 pm.

In the Valedictory function, Swami Virahananda Maharaj, was the Guest who graced the occasion and distributed the certificates & medals to the winners. Dr. R. Giridharan, Associate Professor & Head, Faculty of GAPEY, RKMVERI, welcomed the gathering and added a note on the importance of competition. Dr. Dibakar Debnath, Assistant Professor Coordinated the Yogasana & Suryanamaskar Competition and presented the report of the competition. Dr. D. Yuvaraj, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.
