color-meetingTwo-day National Conference on “Practices and Challenges Encountered in Implementing Policies related to Special Education, Sports and Adapted Games” was organized on 5th & 6th February, 2016 by two Faculties of the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, Coimbatore Campus namely Disability Management and Special Education, General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga.

Swami Abhiramanandaji Maharaj, Administrative Head, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, welcomed the dignitaries and delegates. Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, Asst. General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math released the second revised edition of Indian Sign Language Dictionary – Bilingual (English-Hindi) and Journal of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga (JOAPEY) and gave the presidential address. Dr. Indumathi Rao, Regional Advisor, CBR Network, Bangalore delivered the special address.

The plenary sessions were handled by Prof. D. G. Chaudhari, Chairman, Special Olympics Gujarat, Associate Professor, M.G. Science Institute, Nowrangapura, Ahmedabad, Prof. R. Rangasayee, Director-Technical, Dr. S. R. Chandrasekar Institute of Speech and Hearing, Bangalore, Karnataka, Dr. Shivajee Kumar, Asst. Professor and Nodal Officer, SMARPAN-MD Child Concern, Bihar, Dr. S. Venkatesan, Prof. & Head, Department of Clinical Psychology, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysore, Ms. SriPadmini Chennapragada, Department of Kinesiology, Texas Women’s University, Denton, Texas, USA.  A total of 267 delegates from different parts of India attended the conference as many as 27 papers were presented during the two-day national conference.
