On 10th January 2025, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya organized a National Youth Day rally to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The rally, coordinated by the Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education & Yoga, RKMVERI, Coimbatore, featured a beautifully decorated image of Swami Vivekananda in a ratham leading more than 900 participants as they marched from Metro Matriculation Higher Secondary School to Abhirami Theatre on Mettupalayam Road. Students from United Pharmacy College, United CAS, VNK College of Arts and Science for Women, RV College (Karamadai), and NLP Polytechnic enthusiastically took part in the event. Rtn. M. Thiyagarajan, Chairman of Metro Matriculation, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the youth’s role in nation-building. Swami Buddhidanandaji from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute spoke on Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of service and integrity, while Swami Garishthanandaji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions, along with other sadhus, graced the occasion. Sri. S. Athiyaman, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mettupalayam Sub Division, flagged off the rally and delivered the Chief Guest Address, encouraging the youth to uphold discipline and moral values. The rally concluded near Abhirami Theatre, where Sri. P. Chinna Kamanan, Inspector of Mettupalayam Sub Division, administered a pledge, reinforcing unity and responsibility among participants. Dr. R. Giridharan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, delivered the vote of thanks. Sweets and refreshments were distributed to all participants and members of the public. Covering nearly 2.5 kilometers, the rally echoed Swami Vivekananda’s slogans, embodying patriotism and universal brotherhood while inspiring the youth toward societal progress.
