The Faculty of GAPEY marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 30th November 2024 with enthusiasm and a spirit of inclusivity. The event witnessed active participation from 38 individuals with disabilities, focusing on the significance of fitness and adaptive sports.
The occasion was graced by Revered Swami Buddhidanandaji Maharaj, who delivered a thought-provoking address. He emphasized the transformative power of fitness and sports in enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being, inspiring participants to embrace an active lifestyle.
A fitness pledge was taken by all participants, reaffirming their dedication to regular physical activity for a healthier and more fulfilling life. The event showcased five inclusive sports activities aimed at fostering inclusion, fitness, and sportsmanship:
- Wheelchair Badminton
- Wheelchair Table Tennis
- Wheelchair Boccia
- Wheelchair Basketball
- Wheelchair Throwing Events
