In connection with World Cerebral Palsy Day, observed every year on 6 October, RKMVERI-FDMSE Physiotherapy Unit organized an Assessment Camp for Children with Cerebral Palsy on 8 October 2025. The theme for the year 2025 was “Unique and United.”
The camp commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address and felicitation of the Chief Guest. Dr. Abdul Salam, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, One Care Medical Center, Coimbatore, conducted detailed assessments of the children and suggested individualized treatment plans. He was accompanied by Mr. Sivakumar, Senior Physiotherapist, and Mr. Rohan, Junior Physiotherapist, from One Care Hospital, Coimbatore.
During the camp, parents were informed about the current functional status and progress of their children. A total of 24 children with Cerebral Palsy (16 boys and 8 girls) benefited from this initiative. Internship students from PPG College of Physiotherapy, Coimbatore, provided valuable assistance to ensure the smooth conduct of the camp. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks. The assessment camp was effectively organized and coordinated by Dr. S. Sukumari, Pediatric Physiotherapist, FDMSE.
