A Three-day National Conference Titled “FOSTERING INCLUSIVE PRACTICES THROUGH SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES AND ADAPTED SPORTS FOR PwDs IN ATTAINING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS” was held on 03.04.2024 to 05.04.2024. The inaugural function of the programme was held on 03rd April 2024. The programme started with the prayer song and lighting of kuthuvilakku in the presence of Revered Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Administrative Head, RKMVERI, Coimbatore Campus. Swami Buddhidanandaji maharaj, Assistant Administrative Head, RKMVERI, Coimbatore Campus blessed the gathering with his special address and Guest in chief address was given by Dr. Akhil S Paul, Director, Sense India International, Ahmedabad, Gujrat, Dr. N. Muthaiah, Dean, School of Rehabilitation and Sports Science, RKMVERI welcomed the gathering and Dr. R. Giridharan, Associate professor & Head, GAPEY-RKMVERI proposed vote of thanks, Dr. Sudha. A, Assistant Professor, FDMSE-RKMVERI presented the theme of the conference. In total 139 participants (FDMSE – 115 and GAPEY – 24) attended the programme (48 Male & 91 Female). Students and staff members from both the faculties were also present in the conference.
There were 8 technical sessions based on the theme of the conference. Apart from Technical Sessions, there were paper presentations and poster presentations by participants. On 05th April 2024, in the valedictory function of the programme, Professor Vinay Kumar Singh, Head of the Department, Department of Education of Group with Special Needs (DEGSN), NCERT, New Delhi presented special address and Swami Buddhidanandaji Maharaj, Assistant Administrative Head, RKMVERI, Coimbatore Campus gave valedictory address. Dr.D.Yuvaraj, Assistant Professor, GAPEY proposed vote of thanks. The feedback of the conference was given by three delegates. Certificates were distributed to delegates for participation, paper and poster presentations. The three-day conference concluded with National Anthem. Dr. Sudha A., Assistant Professor, FDMSE, RKMVERI, Coordinated the conference.
