The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world annually on June 21 since 2015 – This year the theme is “Yoga for Humanity”. On this important day, Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga – RKMVERI has organized the yoga with the protocol as prescribed by AYUSH and the central government of India. Students, monks, HOD’s, staff members of various institutions of Vidyalaya and persons with various disabilities in and around Coimbatore district participated in the event.

Dr. R. Giridharan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department, RKMVERI-GAPEY welcomed the gathering and added a special note on the importance of yoga and emphasizing the participation of the persons with disabilities in the inclusive setup.

Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Institutions & Administrative Head of RKMVERI, Swami Nirmaleshananda Maharaj, Secretary, SRMV College of Arts & Science, Swami Virahananda Maharaj, RKMVERI – GAPEY and other monks and HOD’s from various institution of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya were present in the function.

Around 700 students from several institutions of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya took part in the celebration.
