In connection with Gurupuja (Socio-cultural event) the public celebration of the Birthday of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, educational exhibition was organized by Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalya on 07th January 2024. In total fourteen (14) institutions of Vidyalaya participated in this exhibition. Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education (FDMSE) exhibited and demonstrated various flex banners, models and assistive devices with the theme of “Accessibility in Education, Environment, and Employment for successful inclusion of the differently-abled” with an objective of creating awareness among the public regarding the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and to create an inclusive society by making provisions for accessibility in education, environment and employment.
Swami Vimokshananda Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Elagiri and Hon. Justice, G. R. Swaminathan, Madras High Court inaugurated the educational exhibition and witnessed the exhibits along with Swami Garishthananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya and Dr. N. Muthaiah, Dean, School of Rehabilitation and Sports Science. Students and teachers from various educational institutions and general public of Coimbatore and nearby districts visited the exhibition throughout the day and got benefitted out of it. Dr. S. Parween, Assistant Professor, coordinated the exhibition.
As part of Gurupuja – 2024, various literary competitions were also organized for school and college level students. Student teachers from FDMSE, participated and won the prizes in English elocution, Tamil Elocution and Tamil Poem. The winners received their prizes and certificates from the dignitaries. Ms. Shariga V. P. from B.Ed. Special Education (Intellectual Disability) from FDMSE received the best outgoing student of this year.
A total of 120 members – 33 Staff (Male – 11 & Female -22) and 87 Teacher Trainees (Male – 15 & Female -72) of FDMSE participated and performed various duties assigned.
