Student Induction Programme “DEEKSHARAMBH 2023” was organized by Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga on 10 July, 2023 for the fresher batch of Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports (B.Sc. PHS), Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) and Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed).
Deeksharambh is a significant event in the Indian Educational System, symbolizing the initiation of students into a new phase of their academic journey and emphasizing the importance of dedication and commitment to education. These events aim to create a sense of enthusiasm, commitment, and dedication among students towards their studies and personal growth
On par to the values of deeksharambh and to inculcate the basic values and provide a platform to the students and to accustom to the institution, a ritual was performed with the padha pooja, during which the students received blessings, flowers and prasadham as an offering from their parents’.
Swami Suryatmanandaji Maharaj, RKMVERI delivered a special talk about human values and inculcating them to become a good human being through Education and Sports, and also added a note on hostel facilities and daily routines. Dr. R. Giridharan, Associate Professor and Head, RKMVERI, GAPEY addressed the newly admitted students about the opportunities provided by the institution and its values and also encouraged the freshers to set the goals for their future and as a formal part introduced the teaching and non-teaching staff members to the students and the parents.
The session was concluded with the interaction between the senior students and the freshers and their parents to create bondage between them.
The Office bearers of Student Literary Association welcomed all the fresher with flowers to make them comfortable in the new environment. A total of 114 students took part in the programme.
