5th State Level Yoga & 3rd State Level Kalari Payattu Competition 2018

 The 5th State Level yoga competition (SLYC) & 3rd State Level kalari payattu competition 2018 was organised by Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga on 31st January 2018. Registration for the above competition began at 07.00 am on that day.

The SLYC began under the gaze of 9 judges. All the 565 competitors for the SLYC came from 35 schools spread all over Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Sivagangai, Nilgiri and Karaikudi districts. The participants were divided into seven different categories as listed below.

                

In 05 to 09 age group categories the boys 62

In 05 to 09 age group categories the girls 46

In 10 to 12 age group categories the boys 110

                    In 10 to 12 age group categories the girls 100

                    In 13 to 15 age group categories the boys 92

                    In 13 to 15 age group categories the girls 45

                    In Special Children 110

 

The SLKC began under the gaze of 10 judges. Ninety six competitors participated in the competition. They are from 5 schools namely Swami Shivananda School, Periyanaickenpalayam, TAT Kalanilayam School, Periyanaickenpalayam, Amrita School, Eattimadai, Sai Vidhya Nikethan School Mathampalayam and Indian Public school, Kurumbapalayam, Coimbatore district. The participants were divided into four different categories as listed below.

                  

86 boys Under 13 age group category

2 girls under 13 age group category

8 boys under 15 age group category

2 girls under 15 age group category

 

The valedictory function took place at 03.00 pm on the same day. Rev. Swami Garishthananda Maharaj presided over the function. Swami Divyaprajnananda Maharaj delivered the felicitation address. Dr. S. Alagesan, Professor & Head welcomed the gathering and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. R. Giridharan, Assistant Professor of Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga.
